Garreth –
I got this engine in a package with my Compass 135cc and I highly recommend it.
The engine seems really fuel efficient, we use our boat on the River Medway which is a 6 knot speed limit so for this reason and as we’re still running the engine in we haven’t taken it over 3000rpm yet, but we’ve been cruising nicely at 6 knots at around 2500rpm and have so far run the engine for almost 10 hours and not even used one 25 litre tank of fuel yet!
The engine is also really nice and quiet, It charges my battery while it’s running and is really responsive to the throttle and steering controls.
The book tells you literally everything you need to know about the engine from flushing to anual maintenance, fuel and oil types, running in procedures and everything else you may need to know including safety rules and tips! but if your not sure of anything, Boatworld are very knowledgable and was always happy to quickly answer any questions I had about the engine while I was waiting for delivery.
