Whether you're cruising with a compact outboard or paddling your Boatworld SIB (Small Inflatable Boat), the UK is full of stunning lakes, lochs and waterways that welcome inflatable boats. From peaceful paddling spots perfect for a family day out to scenic waters where you can test your motor's capabilities, there’s a launch site for every kind of boater.
Inflatable boats are ideal for exploring inland waterways, lightweight, easy to transport, and simple to launch. However, not every lake allows them, and rules can vary between paddle-only zones and areas that permit small motors, such as electric motors only. That’s why we’ve put together this guide: to help you find the top inflatable boat-friendly water spots across the UK.
Whether you're planning a weekend escape or just a few peaceful hours on the water, our picks will help you make the most of your Boatworld inflatable, safely and legally. So pack your gear, check your pump, and get ready to hit the water. Here's where to go next.

We have been visiting loch lomond for years. 2 years ago we purchased a second hand sib but have replaced it this year with a Boatworld 380. Although we always had a great time at lomond, purchasing a sib has completely changed our experience. The views from the loch are even more stunning. There are islands too explore, (one with wallabys on, one even has a restaurant with beer garden) loch sidepubs with docks.
